MO5AIC Vocal Band

MO5AIC is a 5-man vocal supernova that will leave you scratching your head wondering where “the band” is. Now what does this mean exactly? It means that every sound you will hear, from the drum and bass grooves to the horn and guitar licks, is all created by the human voice. You’ll swear otherwise, but MO5AIC uses no instruments. Give them 5 mics and they’ll give you a show.

Having worked with the likes of Jay Leno, Prince and Tony Bennett, this interactive and finely tuned show is great for all ages and demographics. Need a high energy concert? Wanna attract younger audiences to your theater? Need to spice up familiar music with a compelling, new sound? Look no further! From jazz and big-band to hip-hop and even opera, there will be something for everybody. MO5AIC can also customize lyrics and/or songs to cater to your specific needs.

Music without instruments. Vocal band. A cappella. No matter how you say it, the genre of vocally created music has come a long way in the past 10 years. The word “a cappella” has become sort of tabu. An immediate reference is drawn to specific sub-cultures within the genre, such as doo-wop, barbershop, or collegiate chorus. While all of these forms are great, MO5AIC is none of these and all of these. MO5AIC represents a much different face of the a cappella experience – and one that is not easily definable. At it’s core – MO5AIC creates vocally driven music that could sonically hold it’s own next to any full instrumentation. That’s what we are. That’s what we do. Vocally Driven Music.

In December of 2007, MO5AIC submitted a video to CBS News’ The Early Show, in its nationwide search for “The Next Great A Cappella Group.” The contest would be judged by MO5AIC‘s personal idols, Boyz II Men. MO5AIC won--truly a surreal moment for the group because Boyz II Men were pioneers in the very genre MO5AIC was trying to change. In 2008, MO5AIC garnered more attention through a show called MTV’s Top Pop Group. It was a premise similar to any talent show, but with “pop groups,” as the contestants. MO5AIC was the only “a cappella” group, and it won the contest.

MO5AIC has opened for such superstars as Prince, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas, Stevie Wonder and Jay Leno. MO5AIC performed alongside Joey Fatone for TV Guide Network’s 51st Grammy Awards red carpet event, and later for the Academy Awards. Living in Las Vegas, MO5AIC is currently a featured act at the V Theatre inside Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
