Restaurants
Music is an important part of a quality dining experience. Finding the appropriate music that communicates the theme and mood of a restaurant will enhance the dining experience and increase traffic in the dining room, particularly during challenging economic times when consumers are seeking maximum value from every dollar spent on entertainment.
Dining music creates an ambience that can increase restaurant revenues: quality music will contribute to a pleasurable dining experience, encouraging a dining group to return frequently. Dining music should be subtle, but distinct: music must be loud enough to be heard clearly so that it can revive fond memories, but not so loud that the dining party is unable to converse to create new memories.
Many restaurants have discovered that a classical or jazz ensemble provides background music that satisfies these requirements while appealing to a diverse group of patrons. To select an ensemble that satisfies your patrons while fitting within your budget, select from the artists identified on our Jazz & Swing Page.
If your restaurant has more of a Country or Rustic image, select one of the artists from our Country & Bluegrass Page. These artists can play traditional Country Music, Mountain Music or Bluegrass Music with a local influence from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
To create a unique and memorable experience for your patrons, consider a roving magician or strolling musicians to individually entertain your customers, especially if you anticipate long waiting times to be seated. Contact SeaSoundStudio Entertainment for a list of magicians from our Specialty Artists Page and our Jazz & Swing Artists Page who can perform while strolling.
DANCE MUSIC
The rules for dining music are in stark contrast to the rules for dancing music: the driving rhythms of well-played dance tunes encourage couples to enter and remain on the dance floor. Bands providing dance music must be able to "read" the audience and adjust the songs they play to keep the dancers on the floor, enjoying the music and each other. When successful, a good band will keep customers in the restaurant, eating and drinking while creating wonderful memories that will cause them to return week after week-- bringing more and more friends.
If the business plan for your restaurant is based upon an upscale dining experience, the customers in your target market will likely enjoy jazz, standards, classical music, ballroom music, classic rock or traditional Rock 'n Roll.
If your restaurant draws customers who enjoy jazz, select one of the groups highlighted on the Jazz & Swing Page. Many restaurants choose to maximize the return on their investment in entertainment by asking one or two of the musicians from the jazz group to arrive early and play background music during dinner until the entire band arrives to play dance music.
If your target market is customers who enjoy classical music, go to our Classical Artists Page to audition individual artists who play classical guitar, harp, violin and piano as well as classical ensembles who combine various instruments.
For a truly high-end dancing experience, review our Ballroom Dance Artists Page for information that will help you to understand the profile of customers who would be drawn to your restaurant if you offered ballroom dance music.
If you are uncertain of your target market for customers or if you are uncertain of the music your target customers would find most appealing, consider the bands on our Rock & Pop Artists Page that can play all genres of music. For consulting assistance in selecting the appropriate band or music to reinforce the business plan of your restaurant, visit our Music Consulting Page.

ENTERTAINMENT
Some restaurants want to present more of a show to attract new customers. To create an "Oldies" atmosphere, consider the show band Lady & The Tramps, performing their Let The Good Times Rock 'N Roll show by clicking here.
