Country legend singer, lovely Ava Barber is wowing audiences today in Branson, Missouri. She began her professional career at age 10 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Lawrence Welk discovered Ava’s talent in 1973 and hired her to perform on the show until its closing in 1982.
She pursued a recording career and appeared on numerous television shows such as “Nashville Now” and “Music City Tonight” and made several appearances at the Grand Ole Opry. Ava has performed at the Welk Theatre in Branson and on tours with the Stars of the Lawrence Welk Show throughout the United States and Canada.
Currently, she can be seen performing in Branson in the “Grand Ladies Show: Stars of the Grand Ole Opry”. Her natural southern charm, delightful personality and powerful, melodic voice will please even the toughest audiences! Ava and Bob Havens (the featured trombonist from The Lawrence Welk Show) have joined together to present a show consisting of Country, Pop and Dixieland Jazz music. They are backed by a 7 piece band.
